Chasing Tumalog Waterfalls in South Cebu

South Cebu has a lot of waterfalls to be explored. I happen to experience some of them.  I've always been fascinated  with waterfalls. An awesome phenomenon where nature has molded for a hundreds of years, perhaps a thousand.  When God created the world,  He must have spent a lot of time perfecting waterfalls. I just wish people will take care of it so that the next generation  can live with it.

Getting to Oslob where the majestic Tumalog Falls is located  is quite easy.  From Cebu South Bus Terminal, you have to take a Ceres bus bound for Bato, Oslob. It will take you about 3 to 4 hours travel time.  From the highway drop point, Natalio Bacalso Avenue,  you can ride a rented motorcycle (15php) or walk for about 10 to 15 minutes to the actual site. Entrance fee was 20php.

After our whale-shark experience (which happens to be as early as 6am), we head to Tumalog Falls to cool off. The waterfalls was incredibly beautiful.  The water was extremely cool. The catch basin was  shallow so you don't have to worry about drowning unlike Kawasan Falls.

Free back massage? Yes.

The sound of the waterfall gives me a different kind of excitement. Its soft icy mists kisses your cheeks.  Tumalog Falls is wide (and extremely high) with mini moss-covered umbrella-like bedrock where the cold fine strands of water cascades from the top. As high as about a hundred meters, the cascade waters that falls in a rain-like fashion is not strong enough to hurt you. It actually provides a relaxing massage to weary travelers.  Its diaphanous dress of pale green creates a majestic view. The thick bamboo and surrounding forests acts like a guardian overseeing Tumalog Falls like a scene from a movie.

Just right, blue and green hues: relaxing sight.

2. Take a Ceres bus bound for Bato, Oslob - 155php (air-conditioned) travel time : about 3 hours depending on traffic
