Living Above Worry and Stress : Imperial Palace Waterpark Resort and Spa

Life is a cycle, they say. Sometimes you're on top, sometimes you're not. Sometimes, you're happy, sometimes you're drowning in a river of sadness. Work sometimes consumes you and you must take it back.

Ever since I came back from South Korea, I've been preoccupied lately. Work has been consuming me that I wanted to cut it out of my life. Even my Christmas vacation will be cut short since I'll be needing to run the production line. Stress is beginning to tag along with me everyday and I want it badly out.

And so when I had the chance to go to Imperial Palace Waterpark Resort and Spa, I did not hesitate. I want to de-stress for a while, I think I deserve to have one. After our company party at Crown Regency Hotel and Suites, a few of my colleagues went to Imperial Place, about 10 to 15-minute drive from the previous hotel we're in. We were booked at Mactan Suites, honestly it was my first time to try in a bigger and better hotel suite.

I was really exhausted from the party though all I did was eat, took photos, drink and jamming with the live band, oh yes, maybe because of my wearing-stilettos-all night exhaustion. My feet cried out for rest that as soon as I entered the suite, I walked barefooted around. Imperial Palace was soooo huge that it took us a lot of time getting to our suite at the far edge of the hotel from the lobby. The hotel hallways were so quiet, I thought we were just the only ones walking on it.

Interior design was superb; lobby was not that huge and  spacious but its okay though; the quiet hallways and of course barefooted around our suite is sooo okay

Mactan Suite is really, really awesome with one bedroom with a King bed, another room with twin beds, two restrooms,  two bathroom with bathtub, mini pantry, balcony which leads you to a breath-taking view of Mactan beach and the waterpark and living room area. Each room has  32-inch LCD TV with DVD player, another 37-inch LCD TV in the living room area with DVD player, IP radio clock with MP3 player dock, fully stocked  mini-bar and fridge, microwave oven, safety deposit box, hair dryer, electric kettle and this is what I love the best : WIFI access and wired broadband internet. The bed is extremely comfortable, I've been to hotels when  I travel but I swear this one is so far the best I've ever slept on.

I woke up around 6AM, I wasn't that starving since we grabbed some pizza before we slept at about 2AM. The tub was so tempting but since taking a lot of time by the tub (like what I did every night in South Korea) was not our main business that day, I took a quick shower and stayed a few minutes in the balcony with of course, a cup of coffee.

With this view, I swear you could forget how messy your life had become.

Around 9AM, as our tummy's craving for food, we went to Familia Buffet Restaurant which serves almost all of the flavors of the world. There are about seven kinds of restaurant the hotel has. Familia Buffet Restaurant is open as early as 6AM plus with wide variety of food choices, serving french, american, japanese, korean, and other asian cuisines,  it is actually fit for a family. As soon as we got there, I noticed that most of the guests were koreans, maybe about 85% of the people there. I later knew that the part of the owners of Imperial Palace is a korean so that explains the korean crowd. Plus South Korea is in winter season today, most of the people there opt to escape the cold weather and with the marketing strategies of Imperial Palace, I wouldn't be surprised to see a lot of them here. Anyway, if I could stay here the whole day doing nothing but eat, I swear I have tasted all the finest cuisines from around the world. For my breakfast, I decided to take light with a little of everything (and I did not forget to take a little kimchi since I've been craving for it since I got back from Korea, I had to admit, I missed it very much).
Familia Buffet Restaurant : I could stay there forever, really!

After our sumptuous breakfast, we decided to stroll around the waterpark and to the beach front. It was a bit raining when we got out from the restaurant so we just made a quick  tour and lots of photo-taking around.

On my short stay there, I almost kinda forget the stress and I was thankful I had a chance to be experience  what it was like having a vacation in one of the most famous and world class  hotel in Mactan. Next year, I promise to always take myself out of stress and take a break from the usual work. I've been working hard this year, I am thankful for that. But next year I am hoping I'd get to travel more and experience what life has to offer.
